feels like you wrote this for your friends across the pond. sitting with so many feelings. practicing kindness today. there is a desire for some sort of action, but what? Báyò Akómoláfé says we get caught up in urgency and lose track of what is emerging (paraphrasing). what is happening in the US, this wounding is a portal. (Lidia Yukanivith wisdom). Bayo also says "We will need new forms of care now. May we be found anew." so trying to listen for the emerging and not get caught up in the urgency. thank you so much Katy for your wisdom.

Here in California, it feels like there is no light. The majority of Americans have shown us who they are. They are full of fear and hate and have lost the ability to think critically. As an American I feel bereft, I no longer have a home. It's crushing to look around and realize that what you thought you knew .. we didn't, we just didn't. Thank you for your post on hope. I wish that for all of us, the world. We need it.

I am so very sorry. I felt much the same after the Brexit vote here. It made me look at everyone I interacted with in a very different way. I think the word crushing is perfect for what you describe. I am thinking of you. xx

Thank you for sharing both your vulnerabilities and your strengths. Your words carry weight and lightness at the same time, reminding us that pain/discomfort and hope/resilience can walk side by side, leading us to greater understanding of our own vulnerabilities and strengths.
