wow - what a day! Anyone who can simply 'decide to go to Brussels for lunch' is the most exotic of creatures... I'm in awe of how you not only take yourself off for these incredible adventures in the first place, but then also recreate them in such wonderful detail for other, more home-bound persons of limited adventure-ability. Thank you x

You are so welcome. Andrea is very good at doing this stuff. She once went to the Galápagos Islands, not for lunch, obviously! x

I remember being genuinely in awe at going on the Eurostar to Paris as though I had invented it. It's pretty cool. I went to Brussels on a P & O ferry, I think it took 2 days, but I can't quite remember. I'd love to announce I'm off somewhere far away for lunch. Thank you for letting me in on your trip.

We went to Belgium on a ferry when I was a kid. It seemed to take weeks. On the way back there was a storm, everyone threw up and I thought we would all die. Fun times. Two hours on the train was paradisiacal in comparison.

Yes, my worse family holidays seemed to have involved water, give me a train any day! I've always wanted to go on The Orient Express until I realised you have to share toilets. 😫 That would be like backpacking and I think those days are over for me.
