Fascinating Katy! Strangely enough, a friend was recently complaining that her world was shrinking and I suggested she started to say yes to everything.
I’m in the process of saying no. Very new to me and quite scary but I think I’m calmer now, certainly less busy and my mental health is more balanced now that I’m spread less thinly.
Sorry about your crochet experience. I’m obsessed with crochet!
Love your crochet rage, Katy! I learned to tat as a kid - quite liked it, but it was so time-consuming. Switched to crocheting and made a vast, unwearable poncho. I hadn’t got the tension right. Never went back to it!
So wise as always. I always wanted to learn to crochet. Tried it in lockdown and I hated it too.
I have friends who are amazing at it and make it dreamy and exciting. You and I will be in the other gang being stabby and angry!
I’m so in awe of friends who make beautiful things. I made a prawn and every moment was agony.
I feel like there should be a folk song about this at the very least.
😆

I'm so glad you're feeling the benefit of a good, strong no. I totally agree that it can be a scary thing to do but the benefits are amazing. x

Ah! The poncho years. I remember them well!
Love this and the idea of learning to trust yourself again.
Thank you.x
