I think she might have a party! I have another doll to make with a very short lead time first and then we will see. Thank you for your lovely words. xx
I love the version in Women Who Run With The Wolves. Basically, a girl patiently sews herself a pair of red shoes from the scraps of her life and loves them - until she's offered a shiny pair of new ones. But the new ones start her dancing, and she can't stop until she has to ask a woodsman to chop her feet off (not a great story!). But her own red shoes reminded me of your doll - how they mean something really important because they are made of HER.
What a beautiful piece - your doll (and the process of making her) sound amazing. Reminded me of the story of the red shoes, where the girl pieces together her own pair of red shoes made from the scraps of her life. Thank you for your lovely words.
I love that you have made this doll that is part of you yet also separate. That carries your hopes, dreams, fears etc but also has the magical quality to be more than all those things because she is free, entirely her own self. She is most defiantly art, coming from your subconscious and your conscious self. An expression of celebration of you!
This is so magical Katy. Is she-she having a birth-day party? You give so much in your writing, I hope you know how much it gives others. ❤️

Yeah! What about doing this with other women who would like to heal? - she suggests tentatively xx
You are the second person to mention this actually. I will have a think about it! xx
If it feels right for you xx
This is wonderful and the best sort of magic and the last line made me cry because of how true it is.
Bless you. Much appreciated. xx
Well done babe. Almost as spicy as actually giving birth eh?
Ha ha! Yes indeed!
