Very funny and true. I’ve a soft spot for glimmers though as I came across them in a neurdivergent group. People were sharing their favourite visual stims -hence glimmers. No one was trying to sell anyone anything at that point. ,
Grew up in Science (because hammerheads), made that left turn at Albuquerque when I dove into Taoism and Wicca. So I might know a little bit about both sides of the Wellness Industrial Complex.
Took an integrated approach when husband was diagnosed with colon cancer: chemo + CBD = Remission. A lot of our friends went just either/or, and none of them are still on this side of the equation.
PS - I despise patchouli, so if any part of Gwyneth Paltrow smells like that...big NEIN! from me.
loved this Katy! this was so in my wheelhouse. the "wellness industrial complex" is rampant in western culture. capitalism on their own steroids.
and those vagal nerves do seem to be the "it" place for science right now (and yes, i find the science around it fascinating.)
and yet, if we stop and listen, there is beyond the abundance of information and "wellness ads", wisdom to be gleaned out there. call it "glimmer" or "enchantment" or "magic" or "wonder." i'm all in for some glimmer/enchantment/magic/wonder in these unsettled times.
(BTW-do you follow sophie strand's "Make Me Good Soil?" Substack. she has a lot to say about the health"care" system (in the USA) as well as other wise words.)
'Minge for £4.99 from the middle of Lidl' - snorts Ashwaganda tea over her desk

Katy, I was already crying with laughter then I got to Numberwang! That has absolutely made my day, I’ll buy whatever you’re selling. 😂
ha ha! Excellent. I will let you know when my new line in candles comes out!
Sometimes I take one off and then limp about for a bit because I can't quite be arsed to take the other one off. x
