The whole thing but especially this: 'Technically it isn’t, because witch balls have things called stringers inside. I tried to make stringers and they didn’t work, but I don’t care. I’m a witch and it’s my ball, so it qualifies.’ Love how you write - there’s a way you work through a subject that keeps me with you the whole way and always surprises me at the end.
I am going to strive for that feeling of making for myself and not to show someone else what I’ve done. I absolutely love the witches ball, it’s quite magical.
What a beautiful post. As I am getting older, I’m having a lot of the same experiences you mention here - having given up art, menopause, grounding doesn’t work but time in the water does, removing my inner negative feedback the best I can, trying to get to a baseline of “normal” on the scale of happiness instead of hiding in bed all day, all week, all month, trying art again. And I really want to do glass art / glass blowing too! Also, I am a witch. So much in common. 🌷 Love your newsletter & I look forward to more. PS, I will be spending a lot of time in Nova Scotia in June, and I am looking forward to having water so close to my camp site.
Katy, this post was so inspiring to me that I've printed it out so that I can read it again and again. Your witches ball is so beautiful, as is your writing. Thank you.
I saw a picture of one of your magick spheres in Notes the other day and said, "That looks like a Witch Ball." I was right.
It is midlife when we are finally able to hear our Inner Wisdom clearly, isn't it? Full props to you for finding means and ways to live that work for You. Keep creating!
