This was *such* an enjoyable read, just brilliant fun and so well-written. I feel like I need more Enzo content in my life. What is he up to now? What misdeeds perpetrating? What Enzo Did Next is the new Substack no one asked for — but everyone needs.
Have been yearning for a trip to Columbia Road Market recently and your brilliant piece of writing is spurring me on further. I figure that with a 3 and 1 year old, I’m up early enough to be ready and waiting for opening time, but is it crazy to take these little people with me...?! They are not quite on Enzo levels of mischief but I can’t see my vision of mooching around with pots of oversized flora coming to fruition whilst they are around!
When my three were small, I used to take them, but I can't say it was relaxing! There used to be a city farm nearby and I would bribe them with the promise of cake and a trip to the farm afterwards if they didn't eat all the flowers!
Ha yes I can’t imagine it would be relaxing in the slightest. I love your strategy, farm sounds great and agree that some gentle bribery would probably be required. Cake (and ice cream) usually works a treat! Thanks for the inspiration!

I confess that I thought this morning: ‘I wonder what Enzo is up to this morning!’ Probably a bit of light breaking and entering before nursery
Little reprobate 😂🥰
I share this bucket item, exactly,!and have also been to the market many times, but only since moving back from London.
It's so strange! It seems like such an easy thing to do, but in practice it has been elusive for so long! x
