I'm in absolute awe of your reading this amount of books in one year - how on earth you manage to lead such a multi-faceted life, write so beautifully about it AND still find time to read? I would like some of what you're having!

I loved Romantic Comedy. Tom Lake and In memoriam are top of my list for the holiday I'm hoping to have in February. Can I recommend Birnam Wood by Elinor Catton? my fave unsung fiction of the year...

I have already read it. I much preferred it to her historical fiction x

Oh wow, I thought I had done well reading 76! I take my glasses off to you. Those three volumes of short stories are going on my new year reading list.

Thank you for this! I’m going to start off this year with a couple of your top ten-ers. I think I’m done with that stack on the floor that I’m not reading but haven’t quite been able to return to the library. Your recs are the impetus for a fresh start.

Shamefully I haven’t read any of the books on this list but 4 of them I own and are sitting unread on my shelves. They are going to the top of my must read list of books in 2024!
