i passed by the garden museum several times when visiting london... i keep meanting to drop in. thanks to your pleased visit i'll make sure to go in next time.
Wonderful! I was there last week too (and Queen Camilla visited the day after me I believe!) and felt similarly inspired by the Bloomsbury garden lot and also feel the Vanessa Bell obsession creeping in. Two errors on my part, not having lunch (only coffee and a cookie) and paying £15 (hadn't twigged this beforehand), which was a bit sad! Sounds like you had a delicious day xx
One of my favourite museums. I saw a magnificent exhibition of Cedric Morris paintings there a few years back. Must go and see the Bloomsbury women outdoors.
thank you for taking us along on your day. i often prefer smaller museums as they are less overwhelming and they often offer the unexpected (like a delightful cafe!)
BTW-did you ever watch "The Good Place" on Netflex. where the characters weren't sure if they were in the "bad place" aka "hell" but in noting there is a gift shop are told "of course you are." (totally butchering the telling, but the point! ha!
That sounds like a must-see. I have just been reading Jane Dunn’s wonderful bio of Vanessa & Virginia (re-released by Virago last month) and Harriet Baker’s Rural Hours and my appetite for gardens is throughly whetted!
Sounds like a great way to spend a day. Wasn't aware of this Museum, but glad you have written about it, as very much a Woolf fan.
It's so neatly put together. x

A perfect reason to go back. x
The best kind of days, spent with a friend not wanting it to end.
Thank you for the heads up about the National Art Pass promotion. I immediately stopped reading to go and purchase one.
I have added The Garden Museum on my list to visit the next time I am in the big smoke.
I hope you love it. x

I need to keep up to date with their exhibitions. Such a good space.
