Your holiday wrap-up cheered me up immensely! I haven’t been to Oregon yet, except perhaps when I was a wee babe and my parents were traveling through. I’ll remember your travel advice to take note of the tides.

Thanks for sharing your stories. I loved them.

One of my friends lives in Pacifica, which I agree is lovely.

If you make it back to SF, check out Ananda Fuara. It's a vegetarian restaurant that will still fill you up with yummy food.

Love your holiday roundup Katy. I remember feeling wild and free going to South America the first time, not booking accommodation and getting really bored of having to search down places. Especially when we ended up in yucky places. Second time booked everything and flew everywhere instead of buses. It was lush!

A bit of comfort is essential, and a bit of stability when everything around you is whirling!

loved your telling of places that are so familiar to me. i'll be staying in Cannon Beach next week for three nights (lucky me, it is only an hour and a quarter drive away!) it is one of my heart places. but also love Neskowin, Bandon, and so many other small coastal towns. all have their own personality. and then when i travel across the pond...love those rocky shorelines and their own stories, too.

will have to seek out The Snoopy Museum next time i head south. that sounds like fun!

thank you again for sharing your adventure!!

Oh, do let me know if you make it to the Snoopy Museum. We did get to Bandon, very briefly. Jason got press-ganged by a couple who were putting together a portfolio for adopting a baby and needed someone to take their photo. He was delighted to help and they promised to tell their baby all about the strange Englishman they accosted on the beach! xx

"press-ganged." great phrase! too far away to stop by the museum this time from where i was (darn), but saw two bald Eagles hanging out on Haystack Rock (at Cannon Beach) during my visit. And Bandon...another beach with amazing monoliths and rock formations, but a good 5 hour drive from where i live. and, since i had an Englishman for a father, might i say "strange" is my favorite kind of Englishman!
